Brief Introduction
of Jiangning Science Park(NSP) in Nanjing
In the 2nd year of Taikang (281 DC), when Sima Yan---the
Jinwu Emperor came south for inspection to Jianye (old
name of Nanjing), the emperor said "if the Yangtze
River is calm outside, it will be peaceful here"
then, Linjiang County was renamed as Jiangning County.

In the 6th year of Kangxi (1667 DC), Jiangning county
and Suzhou County were merged and named "Jiangsu
Province" thereafter.
Jiangning district covers an area of 1,567 square kilometers
with a population of 780 thousand. Surrounding Nanjing
from east, south and west, Jiangning is the most developed
district of Nanjing. In 2004 Jiangning's GDP reached 20
billion RMB, it's per capital income averaged 3,200 USDA
and financial income rose to 4 billion RMB.
Nanjing Jiangning Science Park(NSP) was authorized to
be built in June 1994 by the Peoples Government of Nanjing
Municipal. In 1997 the Government approved to become a
state level High-Tech Industrial Development Zone with
an area of 240KM. Jiangning Science Park is situated 25km
from down town and enjoys easy access from newly built
highways.
Jiangning's new and innovative development design has
made one park with 3 districts: High-Tech industrial development
zone, College Town and Fangshan mountain tourist resort.
After 10 years, this development design has proven to
be very successful with rapid growth and development.
